Warriors of Warrington Percy Mason Memorial Meet 2016

On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December, Winsford Swim Team deployed yet another unstoppable force into foreign territory to compete in the Warriors of Warrington Percy Mason Memorial Meet 2016. A young but determined team assembled ready to take on some fierce competition from Cheshire and surrounding areas. However once again bright orange reigned supreme! The unit was built up of some of our youngest talents right up to our more senior heavyweights, this combination was destined for greatness and they delivered with pride.

Day one began with a relaxing 12:30pm start. However as soon as racing began Winsford had soon unsettled their competition, leaving not only rivals in their wake but their own personal best times too. A whopping 129 PBs were gained over the weekend, from small margins to huge lifetime bests. Not to mention a number of swimmers gained Cheshire QTs and even a Regional QT!! Each swimmer swam with outstanding passion, drive and honour. The meet also showed how strong Winsford are; technically every single swim was swum with intelligence and attention to detail in terms of race skills and technique. This proved to be a secret weapon when battling for top positions. This gala awarded medals for the top six swimmers in each event which resulted in a massive amount of medals won. Our totals:

  •          Gold: 10
  •          Silver: 10
  •          Bronze: 13
  •          4th: 7
  •          5th: 13
  •          6th: 11
  •          Total Medals: 64

It’s very difficult to mention every single performance because there were so many brilliant swims. Thank you to parents for your continued love and support for your children they are a fantastic bunch, they kept me entertained all weekend, you should be very proud, I know I am. Thank you also to; Lucy George, Sue Wright and Kelly Wilson for helping me out on poolside. Winsford Swim Team continue to prove our strength in this sport.
