Inter Association 2016 (1)

Congratulations to all swimmers who represented the North Midlands Swim Team at Wigan on Sunday 26th June.  The Inter Association brings together the best 11-14 year old swimmers in the North West to battle it out for their area.  The North Midlands team did fantastically well coming in an overall 5th place which is a big improvement on the previous years result, and for a good part of the day we were battling for a top 3 spot, so there are clear signs more is to come in the next year.
The whole North Midlands team picked up 30 medals over the day and achieved a super number of points 756.5 which was 77.5 more than in 2015.  Winsford Swim Team had an excellent representation of 14 swimmers for the North Midlands team, we picked up many top 6 placings, many medals and a huge number of PB's.  Winsford swimmers picked up 15 medals: 5 Gold, 4 Silver, 6 Bronze. All our swimmers made a fantastic contribution to the North Midlands Swim Team, Well Done and Thank You!.
Medal winners for Winsford Swim Team were:

The racing at the inter association is very enjoyable to watch and even more enjoyable to race in.  Unlike open meets all swimmers are in a heat with all their own age, so it is racing head to head for medals and points for your team.  Congratulations to all swimmers and coaches from all the different clubs who came together to represent our area (Alsager, Cheadle, Chester, Knutsford, Leek, Newcastle, Northwich, Satellites, Winsford) it was great to watch the racing unfold and great to see the commitment level.  Many thanks goes to Mike Price for picking the team, Phil Balcombe for coaching and to Julie Grindley and Sarah-Jane Armitt for being team manager.  I am positive next year the NM team can climb up the points table because there are so many signs to show the NM are on our way up to a top 3 placing.
